With a water resistance rating of 10 atm and a hardened mineral crystal, the plexi acetate is a great premium timepiece that can withstand the elements. About acetate:: commonly found in Italian designer sunglasses, the acetate process is borrowed from high-end eyewear construction, to create "hand formed" frames. Vestal cases are hand formed (after machining, before assembly) for this process. The acetate material comes from the same supplier as the eyewear industry.
